Well... I have a lot of pictures to share of Peyton. He is 3 months old tomorrow and is growing so fast! Peyton smiles and laughs so often now. He loves to talk to his jungle gym friends! We also went to see John Michael play Teeball last weekend, which was great fun. For the past two nights, Peyton has only woken up ONCE during the night, and then again around six or seven in the morning. Yay! We are getting there! Let's see... Peyton has something called an umbilical granuloma, which means the stump where his umbilical cord was hasn't completely healed so it was still oozing stuff. Dr. Patz put silver nitrate on it to cauterize it at his two month check up a couple of weeks ago. It was smaller, but still oozing a bit so I called the doctor on Thursday and made an appointment that day. Mom took him in and Dr. Patz did another silver nitrate treatment. This time, though, it looks kind of like it burned his skin or made it raw. I can't quite tell how the granuloma looks yet because of the outside skin around his bellybutton. His 3 month appointment is in two weeks, so if it's not healed by then we will have to talk with Dr. Patz about the next step. Minor surgery is the option if the silver nitrate doesn't work, and I would rather not try it again because it hurt his skin so much... but Mom also found something about salt for a granuloma, so we may try that too. Surgery is NOT cool. It will be ok. Here are some happy pictures!
